Purdue Extension Master Gardener Program Policy Guide

The Marion County Master Gardener Association is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote good gardening practices in cooperation with Purdue Extension-Marion County. Members of the association are Master Gardeners who serve as volunteers to help educate the public on gardening through educational programs and individual contacts. They also work with numerous organizations for community beautification.  To become a member of MCMGA you must take the Master Gardener class and pass the final exam.

It is the goal of the Master Gardener Association to increase members’ knowledge of sound gardening practices, provide information to the community on current and timely gardening methods and assist Marion County Master Gardeners in fulfilling their volunteer commitment.

Monthly meetings consist of announcements, shared experiences, progress reports on projects and opportunities to volunteer in the community. After a refreshment break, there is a speaker on a gardening topic of interest. This second hour counts towards the training requirement for Advanced Master Gardener certification. Members receive the monthly newsletter, The Greenery, and are included in the annual Membership Directory.

The meetings are held on the second Monday of each month from 9:15 AM until 11:30 AM at the Northminster Presbyterian Church 1660 Kessler Blvd E. Dr. The association also has field trips to various places of interest several times a year.

Annual dues are $25, if paid by check or cash.  You may also pay your annual dues via PayPal, but note the charge will be $26, to cover the increase in PayPal usage fees; or via Square at one of our meetings, but again the charge will be $26, to cover the Square usage fees.

Either send by mail or give it to the Membership Chairperson. The form has fields that can be filled in using Acrobat Reader. Download the form first, then fill it out and save. Some systems do not save the filled-in information if it is done without downloading first. Then you can submit it by emailing to memb@indymcmga.org.
