About Us

MCMGA Mission Statement: The mission of the Marion County Master Gardener Association (“MCMGA”) is, in collaboration with Purdue Extension, to share and nurture gardening knowledge and skills through education and support of MCMGA members and through volunteer engagement with the public.

THE MARION COUNTY MASTER GARDENER ASSOCIATION (MCMGA) is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote good gardening practices to the community in cooperation with Purdue Extension – Marion County.  To be a member, one must have successfully completed the Master Gardener training and initial certification according to Purdue’s current standards.

The volunteer work of MCMGA members is visible at many public parks, including Eagle Creek Park, Holliday Park, and Garfield Park; at museums including the Indiana State Museum, Newfields, Indiana Medical History Museum and the Eiteljorg; and at public spaces such as the Governor’s Mansion, Indiana School for the Blind, Indiana State Fairgrounds Demonstration Garden, and many more. We keep an updated list of opportunities on our website.  Master Gardeners also operate an Answer Line (phone and email) for persons to contact us with gardening questions and problems.
